F/00d takes a look at the globalised industry of modern food production with an aim to investigate and communicate the relationships between food consumption and modern day social issues. Food is the foundation of our existence, the fuel on which society depends in order to function. The introduction of synthetic agriculture to both western and eastern society has had enormous effects on the entire race. The industrialisation of food has had considerable impact on civilisation in areas such as employment, the economy, migration, animal welfare, ecology and even crime. These recognised global issues are not being ignored; in fact they are broadcast to society 24 hours a day. However we are very poorly educated on the causes of such issues and the kind of activity that ensures their continuation. These images are intended to illustrate the global and local issues caused by irresponsible food production/consumption through the degradation of the subjects.
